The infamous Johnny Rook aka. Johnny Walker Black. This species, known as the Caracara, has been recognized as a very unusual bird of prey on the Falklands for the past two centuries. They are very intelligent, incredibly tame, and highly curious. This one in particular investigated our campsite on a daily basis and even took our tent pins out of the ground. They have been known to fly off with various items in their grasp... even a camera lens which someone left out! They feed on virtually anything... including penguin eggs, chicks, and lambs.
